NITSAN is Tel Aviv University's Sustainable Development Lab. Supported by the Boris Mints Institute (School of Public Policy, Faculty of Social Sciences), the lab conducts inter-disciplinary research on all aspects of sustainable development, with an emphasis on the diffusion of Israeli technologies in developing countries. Our research involves intensive field work in multiple locations in Asia and Africa.

LEADING FACULTY >

  Dr. Ram Fishman 
Ram Fishman is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Public Policy (Faculty of Social Sciences) in Tel Aviv University and the Director of NITSAN Lab. Prior to joining TAU, Ram was an assistant professor of Economics at George Washington University and a post-doctoral fellow at the sustainability science program of the Harvard Kennedy School. Ram holds a PhD in Sustainable Development from  Columbia university an a M.Sc. in Physics from the Weitzmann Institute.

Prof. Hadas Mamane is the head of the Environmental Engineering Program and the director of the Mamane WATER-TECH laboratory at Tel Aviv University. Hadas holds a PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Duke University, and a M.Sc from the Technion.

  Sarah Rozenberg 
Sarah Rozenberg is the Program Manager of the Tata Trusts-TAU Indo-Israeli Innovation Villages. Sarah joined the team after 2.5 years as the India Program Manager at the Pears Program for Global Innovation. Prior to coming to Israel, Sarah spent 4 years in India working for the Naandi Foundation - one of India's largest and most innovative social enterprises. Sarah holds a Master of Management from HEC Paris, and an MBA in Sustainability Management from the Fundação Getulio Vargas in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
